Don't get them all, but greatly reduce the population & they don't seem to recover from that. For the moment, at any rate.Lora Hugheshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09172866617524279809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152089060931349370.post-57511723457424903882018-07-01T02:13:25.089+05:302018-07-01T02:13:25.089+05:30Whosthisguy is a weevil of some description. I find if I squash most of the aphids in an outbreak, then wait a while, natural predators, Aphidius usually, a parasitic wasp, move in and get them under control. I doubt whether soap or garlic are selective, they probably kill the predators as well; the aphids breed faster and bounce back.Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17835300203354452944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152089060931349370.post-80240782837034893592018-06-30T17:03:47.376+05:302018-06-30T17:03:47.376+05:30It is interesting that we always feel we have to g...It is interesting that we always feel we have to get rid of these pests and diseases. Sometimes I wonder whether we shouldn't just live with them, but then maybe they would take over.Carrotsandcalendulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16228793224839392328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6152089060931349370.post-33632239721480527052018-06-30T16:09:31.525+05:302018-06-30T16:09:31.525+05:30Oh dear! It may be a little late in the season but I would definately recommend that. As for your diseases, I can’t help I’m afraid. I did have rust in my Hollyhocks a few years ago and had to take all of them out and I burnt them. I’m trying again this year and so far, so good. Good luck!Oldhouseintheshireshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13609313028515217277noreply@blogger.com
